I just had my left front axel and rear brakes replaced on my 2004 Volkswagen Passat. It is a front wheel drive turbo. They also had to replace my CV driveshaft RF. Next day, my transmission is not working and makes noises. I had to get it pushed to a parking space. My husband said it was like moving a ton of lead. Not the normal "in neutral" push. Did they screw up my transmission while replacing my axel and CV driveshaft along with the rear brakes? Or is it a separate issue?

Thanksfor a response in advance, Jeannie

Without being there to look at it, it is too difficult to give you an accurate answer. Could be an axle disengaged from the transmission because of improper installation or defective part.

Hello, and thank you so much for your awesome response. I called the repair shop today and relayed that the problem more than likely was the axle not fitting into the transmission correctly or the wrong cv drive shaft. They towed my car to the repair shop and found that the CV drive shaft that they had ordered was indeed not the right size. Needless to say, they re-ordered the correct size to fit. They brought the car back to me and all is well[:P] You're the man!!! Thank you!!!
