2007 eqiunox 2wd trans slipping Sign In

As described, I think I have a transmission showing signs of slipping I cant find anything explaining the common source. Hope its something I can fix this holiday break. I have to install a hub assembly also so please any advice on trans? The once quick firm shift is occasionally taking about three times longer and winds rpm a few seconds longer. Any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks all

Is this only apparent in 1-2, 2-3, or 3-4? Or all up shifts? How is the fluid level and condition? You may need to take it to a transmission specialist. They can look at shift times and see if the TAPS (transmission adaptations) is exceeded. Normally long delayed shifts will set some type of transmission trouble code(s). From there they would have to test pressures and solenoid activity before cracking the transmission open and doing visual inspections.

You can test solenoids using ohms, amps, and voltage, but you also have to know which one to test and know what to look for. The best way to test the electrical portion of the solenoid, along with its circuit and driver, is by monitoring its current and amperage using a labscope while either controlling its operation by using a scan tool with directional control or watching it in normal operation. That gives you information about the electrical portion of the solenoid and how it is being controlled. The only problem is that a solenoid may check good electrically, but have a mechanical fault, so you need feedback by monitoring pressure or pressure switches.

If it is slipping in all up shifts, you really need to focus on monitoring line pressure and how the pressure control solenoid is controlling line pressure. Unless you have the right equipment to diagnose this and know how to use it, it might be cheaper in the long run to pay a specialist to diagnose it for you.

If it is slipping, driving it will eventually burn out clutches or bands (effect).

a 2007 with a slipping trans will set codes, they may be P1xxx (P1811?) so called manufacturer specific.
step 1 will be to read and post ALL codes.
It may help us if you list any issues the vehicle has- speedo inop etc, any modifications or repairs.

2007 equenox- engine size and if you know trans type.
