Engine and trans aren't likely new just swapped out for used it's a "Salvage Car" to me it's called might defeat any warranty or not depends on how purchased and where now? It's either defaulting to a limp mode or just a mess of poor work or bad luck getting it all back to sell it as a running car again. The big question is now how long ago and did it have any warranty still possibly in effect?
