1989 gmc jimmy s15 4.3 ltr 4 wheel drive 80k miles on tranny 267k or chassis This truck is leaking fluid from the gaskets up on the sides of the tranny. The shop said they would have to pull the tranny and it would cost 400 bucks to reseal it. Is there something I can pour in it to seal it. I have some transX and I have used lucas before and I guess its ok. I want to try something to seal it before I spend 400 bucks on it if possible. Anybody got know of something that might work. i have even thought about putting some silicon seal on the outside to stop it from seaping.

monty; Don't put any 'additives' in the trans. Those 'snake oils' will do more long-term damage than you have, now. If it's a gravity leak, externally applied silicone may slow down the leak, but the re-seal is the answer. Loren SW Washington
