Sign In Good evening, I have a 2002 Chevy Avalanche 4x4 with a 5.3 and the 4l60e trans. When taking off from a stop and shift lever in any position other than "1", it seems to be trying to take off in 2nd or even direct. If shifted into low ,first gear, I can feel it go into the lower gear. It also doesn't shift into overdrive on a consistant basis. Orange abs light is on once in a while and no check engine light is present. Sign In Hello, Sounds like the trans maybe be in failsafe, even though the check engine lite is not on, i would have it scanned to see if any codes are present, also check your fuses, i would start with that.
