06 mustang gt automatic, 15k miles. I have noticed that once i hit 4th gear at any throttle possition my acceleration slows. Engine sounds like it is starving for fuel or air. Example at 1/2 throttle I have good acceleration but once i hit 4th gear rpms drop way down. to continue accelerating I need to go 3/4 throttle to get a down shift.

Your car is going into overdrive. This gear is designed for fuel mileage at cruising speeds so it's expected not to have a lot of acceleration while in overdrive. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
