Does this drive at all? Did you check the condition of and adjust the TV cable at install? What is the fluid level? Did you fully flush the cooler and lines when you put this in?

Does it go into any gear when you put it into drive? Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

The speedometer gear or cable has nothing to do with the shifting. You need to be checking for a stuck governor valve in the governor, bad governor gear, or stuck shift valve in the valve body. Just curious, but what happened to it to cause it to be rebuilt? Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

well it just stopped shifting, so figured it was the tranny,we were going to buy one at the junkyard but our friends uncle said that it would be better to rebuild it instead and since he has A shop we said ok, but apparently hes not to educated (i say)because i figured he would of completely checked out all the possibilities.i can say that weve had this van for about 8yrs and its been great, minor fixes once n awhile, and now just wait and see my husbands there again today apparently this guy isnt working on it until he shows up. Wow, it must be a real brain teaser. When it was overhauled was the valve body disassembled? Sometimes those valves can get hung up in the bores or leak. Sometimes bores need to be rebushed and new valves installed. The steel check balls can beat up the seperator plate and cause balls to not seat properly. Another factor is making sure that your valve body isn't distorted from improper torquing. That can hang up valves too. How did the old clutches and bands look when it was overhauled? Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
