Not sure if this post goes here but I try.I have a 92 Ford E 350 with a 7.3 engine. The van has 240,000 miles on her.Last spring the overdrive light would come on and start flashing. The van covers a set route and it would come on about 9 miles into the route. The transmission what then shift hard trying to protect the transmission. Bring it back and the tool said my torque converter was slipping. Let it sit and the code is gone and everything works great until the same spot. If I go on a different route it could come on sooner or later. One other time the scan said it was slipping it also mentioned my throttle position sensor was bad.I replaced the sensor a few years ago and no my problem is back. I cheked the pan and it was clean. So I changed the filter and filled her up . Does anybody cthink this is my problem again ?

You could have one of many things happening here. Your torque convertor clutch could be indeed worn out. Anything is possible given the age of this van. You could be having a partially obstructed circuit in the valve body to the TCC or even a bad TCC lockup solenoid. You might want to have a trans shop look at it that can view the pressures and data in the TCM to see if it can be a simple fix or if you need an overhaul.
