94 calalier wont shift down

I have a 94 chevy cavalier,3.1v6.I think the torque converter is bad.Is this something easy to fix myself?And how do I do it?

You have to remove the transaxle assembly(transmission) to access and replace it.
Not diy friendly...
Suggest purchasing a service manual or at least obtaining one for the procedure if you do decide to tackle it..
Remember,the engine will have to be supported and the torque converter is bolted to the flexplate...
