Goes in Drive for about a minute after car is started then wont move anymore.

2011 Chevy Malibu LT. Filled gas tank up, noticed labored transition from 2-3rd gear but not too significant. stopped at another store. Car was fine. Went to another store again car was fine. Left and as I'm driving I noticed the RPM's going up but I was not moving. Turned the car off and back on Car only goes into drive for about a minute before it completely wont move anymore. I can turn the car off and back on again and quickly put it in drive and it works again for about a minute and wont move again. Engine light came on and Onstar showed an emission code. Any thoughts?

Have you have the trans fluid level checked yet?

Several months ago and it was OK. We added a bottle along with Lucas slip stop when it messed up. But it didn't help. It's like something is actively shutting it off after a minute. Like the sensors are screwed up?

Several months ago, you didn't have a problem so that check doesn't help much.

There was no code spit out for the transmission. Just an emissions code. Now there is no code coming up.

The code was P0171. But could an emission failure cause the transmission to do this?

That's not simply an emissions code. That is a lean fuel mixture code and that will effect the way the engine runs but not the transmission.
That should be repaired regardless of what the trans issue may be.

I’m not sure if this is the cause or an after effect from revy the engine to figure out what is wrong. Either way it cleared the code. No error codes now.

There is no such thing as "Mechanic in a Can" so stop adding that stuff. You may not be able to check the fluid level yourself but it can be checked and should be.
