I have a 91 Ford Explorer, 4.0L 4x4. my issue is I was driving home from my softball game and stopped in for gas. when I came back out all forward gears were gone. I double checked the fluid and that was not the issue. I can go backwards but I still have no forward motion. WWhat would cause this and how can i fix it? should I repair or just get a new tranny?

If the fluid is clean & full and you can go backward but not forwards..... Sounds like you might have lost a foward clutch pack. More than likely you are looking at internal repairs.............
