Smile I was just given a '06 Honda CR-V EX. It's transmission is shot and needs to be replaced. I can't afford a new or rebuilt one, so will have to get one off eBay or from a yard. By looking up the VIN online I can see that it was assembled in the U.K. Most of the transmissions I've seen on eBay are from Japan. Would these trannies be interswapable? Do I need a specific model of trans for my specific engine? If so, how do I go about finding a part number or looking up the transmission to ensure a proper fit?

Re: Help with '06 Honda CR-V EX transmission Sign In

Thank you so much! Not having to much luck on eBay for the trannie on my price range. There's two that are rebuilt for upwards of 2k. All the scrapes ones that I could afford are SKPA, RKYA, MRVA, PRVA & RKZA. Is there any way to find out if any of these would work?

Thanks again for your help. I found out that the English made is indeed different from the Japanese built one. Before I order a new transmission though I'm gonna try changing the fluid and filter (if there is one). Thanks again. Really appreciate your time!

I just swapped the trans in an 02 Accord with one that was brought in from Japan and the only differences was a couple of the sensors. I just swapped them with the old ones.

A filter on a honda you cannot change, all you can do is drain and fill the trans
