Jeep Grand Cherokee, transmission problem

Year of vehicle: 2000 Model : Grand Cherokee Make: Jeep Engine: 6 cylinders 4.0 L Mileage : 148.000 The problem is that the truck is in drive but only runs up to second gear. I change the transmission filter and fluid, but still the same,. i wonder if somebody can tell me or give me a clue of what could be the problem, please. Thank's

You will need a professional scan tool to access the transmission codes. It sounds like it has gone into limp mode.
