Hey guys, names Kevin and I just recently purchased a 83 Porsche 944 with the 2.5 and has about 130k on it, anyways here is what I'm running into and I'm stumped. I was driving around the other night and the car got stuck in 4th gear, well I eventually got it out of gear and got it home, well the vehicle then got stuck in neutral, I tried adjusting the shift linkage with no luck, whenever I got the linkage loose, it felt like it was really sloppy, and whenever is tighten it up, it would not go into gear anymore....I'm thinking maybe my clutch slave or master cylinder or shift fork..what do you guys think?

It's probably got some worn bushings in the linkage somewhere. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Thanks for the quick reply, it always made a quick grind when I went into third, but it was never bad, most people never heard it, is just always feel it. I can't really pinpoint the problem with the stated symptoms..Do you think it could be anything else?

I gave you an answer. Without even checking what I suggested, you want another answer? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
