Reduced ower Light Sign In

I have a 2003 Saturn Vue with a 2.2 Eco Tech Engine and a CVT Transmission. When I drive the vehicle two lights come on. One is the service engine soon and the other is Reduced Power. When this happens (doesn't happen all the time) the rpm's almost double. When I take it in to the service tech. they tell me there's nothing wrong or they tell me that the trans needs to be replaced. If the trans is bad wouldn't this happen all the time? I've changed the TCM at a cost of $700.00. Problem is still there. Now they want to change out the valve body and sensors. Any help would be great.

I believe the revs. are doublng because the trans is slipping. I would make sense that it needs replacing.Thats the same reason for the reduced power.

Re: Reduced ower Light Sign In

Reduced power light means that the PCM detected something wrong with the electronic throttle control system and is in failure mode.

You need to find out what trouble code(s) are being stored. Write down the trouble code numbers.
