Slipping Transmission

Hi,
Have a 2003 Honda Element EX trim with 251K miles, fairly good condition. The transmission started slipping, mostly in 1st or 2nd. It works intermittently fine for periods, then slips randomly. Trying to sell it and wondering the best option. Should I try to repair this and sell it (assume I would get more) or just try to sell as is. I've looked at a bunch of YouTube videos and potentially replacing the Solenoids may fix the slipping issue without a full transmission swap/rebuild. Any recommendations on what is the cheapest way to get the best return?

Our trans expert Gary will be along eventually but I don't expect solenoids to resolve those issues. With that many miles I wouldn't sink too much money into it.

Thanks, at the inflection point of putting time/money in to repair vs. cutting my losses and selling cheap.

Hello
On these Honda Transmissions, very common for the clutch packs to wear out, the friction material comes off and creates to much clearance in the clutch pack causing a slip or flare on the shift. Do you have any codes for the transmission. Gary

Finally got the codes, it's P0507, Idle Air Control System RPM higher than expected. The O'Reilly guy said just need to clean out or unstick the IACV. It's definitely running rough on idle between 1-3K, but could that be the issue that causes it to jerk while it's running and me just think its a transmission problem? Assumed transmission since I would hit the clutch when it jerked and it would coast smoothly...

I would fix that first, a bad running engine will affect the way a transmission works. Gary

Well, amazingly, that looks to be it. Swapped out the IACV and I guess what I thought was transmission problems was really throttle. Thanks for the help!
