Sign In Hello good folks. Wondering if someone can help me out as I'm not super car knowledgeable. I have a 2008 Ford Fusion, 2.3l four cylinder, 5 speed manual, just under 32000 miles on it. Just recently, it started making a squeaking noise which I first thought was a belt. It seems to go away when I drop it into neutral. It seems to be worse in lower gears (3rd and below) than high gears. It also seems to go away after I've been driving a while. Sign In May not be in the trans, you may want to take the belt off and see if the noise is still there.
