Hello, First, the reason why you had no 2nd,4th or reverse is because inside the transmission there is a part called a drive shell, either the splines stripped or it broke away fom the shell. When you say it wont shift from second, does that mean you only have 2nd? If so, then the trans is in failsafe, so you would need to get this scanned for codes, something must have happened putting it back together. Gary

No it shifts from first to second but won't shift out of second to third. And I just put it in my truck last night. It was at a transmission shop for a week they said they fixed it because everything else works just fine

Hello, Ok, next question, after the shift into 2nd does it seem like it stays there or does it attempt to go to 3rd but goes into neutral. Gary

Hello, Ok, if this is going into neutral when it should be going to 3rd, that means your 3-4 clutches are toast, transmission will have to come out to be fixed. A common problem with the 04 and up 4L60E Transmissions is the input drum delvelopes a crack and burns the clutch out, now if you had 3rd before the repair and not now possible assembly error when putting it back together, you should sample the fluid, check the color and see if it smalls burnt. Hello, I would say something happened on reasembly, possible sealing ring torn on the input drum, i really would drive the car too much(not that you really can) bring this back to the trans shop that did the repair. I cant believe they actually let you pick the car up. To replace the drive shell, the input drum does have to come out. Gary

Wha I don't understand is it was just fine for 2 hours I drove it from cross plains to rising star and from tree to Coleman and it done just fine... Could it be that maybe there wasn't enough oil put in it?

There would be alot more issues pretty much right off the bat when the trans is low on fluid.

Well, usually when there is an eletrical problem, you would have a code and the trans would be in failsafe which is 2nd gear only. If this is shifting 1st to 2nd and when it should shift to 3rd but goes into neutral, this is not eletrical it is a mechanical problem, something with your 3-4 clutch. Gary Have you gone for a 2nd opinion?

Certainly sounds like a mechanical problem, if there is another shop in your area, you may just want them to drive the car and see what they say. To me from what your saying, the 3-4 clutch is no good. Gary

That's what we are thinking. It irritates the crap out of me to be honest because I'm already paying this guy $400 for something he said he had fixed already how the hell am I gonna afford to pay him more? It's ridiculous
