The problem with my car started about 2 weeks ago...at first when i got in to drive it for the first time in the day it would shift into reverse and drive but wouldnt go anywhere. so i tried to make it go by pushing the gas down harder, then realized it wouldnt drive until it was warmed up. It still does that, but now when it reaches about 20 25 miles an hour it shifts really rough to the point where the car kinda jerks back and when it hits 40 its a slight jerk but noticeable; just dropped the pan and refilled tranny fluid with brand new fluid and check fluid level every day. I want to know if there is a problem there i can fix before tranny totally dies or just wait it out and end up having to buy brand new. THANKS!

Guess: Its ready for an overhaul. Reason is trans has a pump up front the applies pressures to items as needed. RPMs would help when things are worn. It's a guess as said - the bands and clutch plates only last so long but when they really fail usually leave a tell tale sign of dark trans fluid but not always, T

Tom's probably right. You did replace the filter while you were in there, right? Loren SW Washington
