clutch cable citoen zx Sign In

Unimpressedhave just fitted with the aid of a trained swan,a clutch cable to my citroen zx diesel.Unfortunatly the end that goes into the back of the pedal keeps coming out again.I'm assuming hte clip on the back of the clutch pedal is worn and is allowing it to slip outunder pressure.I phoned Citroen who don't do parts for cars over 10 yrs old!!!!GREAT!Mad
So I phoned all the 'generic type'parts dealers who don't have one eitherMadCrazyUnsure
what do I do scrap the car?????has anyone had this problem and does anyone know where I can get a clip?I'm on the isle of wight and there are none in the breakers yards.HEEEELLLLLP

Making me work here as they don't sell that in the US. No matter the parts are available new with a search. I got as far as the cable but not the clips or if needed the pedal.

Guessing there's a hole in metal of the pedal that is now too large from wear. If you have machine shops, good welders available perhaps it can be fixed back to spec or a whole one new on line.

This site seemed all over the place out of the UK. Included a phone # at this link...........

If that doesn't get you somewhere, try using "Google Images" with the shortest description of your car but include "parts" in the search bar. Look below the images for tell-tale that the picture is from a parts supplier and click on the picture and it will (should) go there.

You'd be that far ahead if you had part #s at least.

If you can post a picture of just where the problem is I/we might be able to suggest some other ways to safely fix it. It may be common hardware store or common hardware for brake cables. I'm leary of used as if it wore out on this it suggests a used one wont be much better.

No - you don't have to get rid of the car over this!
