i have a 99 dodge ram 1500 4x4 w/ a rescently rebuilt trans everything was fine for about 5000 miles when the trans is cold it seems to be fine but as it warms it doesnt want to shift i can get it to shift 1 to 2 by letting off the throttle but it does not want to shift 2 to 3 although it does sometimes by letting off throttle and reapplying throttle i also got it to shift 2 to 3 by turning the od switch off then on a couple of times i also changed my fluid and filter this was no helpUnsure

First you should ask the place the rebuilt the trans in just 5,000 miles. This seems like it simply isn't sensing load on engine well or perhaps throttle position??

Guess: A vacuum leak could do this. Probably not a cut off hose or somthing but more like a split on one in the wrong place. Check out any wiring or vacuum items that they look good. Not sure but a sensor for load may not use a vacuum hose at all. Look for items on intake manifold for where I think it would sense load,
