problems after installing new clutch Sign In

hello i have just fitted a second hand gearbox to my vauxhall astra 2006 1.4 sxi and installed a new clutch while i was at it. i fitted an LUK clutch and slave cylinder. the car now takes up to 10 seconds after releasing the clutch to start moving and the same after changing gear. the clutch pedal will also get very stiff and not work at all. i have bled the system using a pressure bleeder but still no change. only thing i can think of is I have misaligned the clutch trying to get the gearbox back in. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: problems after installing new clutch Sign In

This car not sold to the US where most of us are but some basics on this:
Used is used and at your own risk for fit and quality but at least be the correct one. Kinda sounds like clutch parts aren't right? Hard to push pedal? That's noticeable over long time you don't with a worn out clutch so parts could be wrong - are you sure all were exactly right?
Hard to say now but if the fingers that release the clutch are at such an angle pedal would be hard and might not push well if totally wrong along with a host of possible reasons. Right parts known is the first question........
