i have a 1988 ford f-150,4.9 v-6,with a/t. i replaced the ignition switch on the steering column. my manual said to remove the steering column shroud, and lower the column. i did this, and replaced the switch. i put it all back together, and now the vehicle will only shift into reverse, and neutral. it seems like it's stuck. any answers/help would be appreciated! thanks, and have a good day!

Might want to inspect the linkage where the shift cable connects near the base of the shift column tube. Make the screws didn't come loose or the cable got damaged somehow. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
