I just purchased a 96 blazer LS 4x4 4.3 liter V-6 with central port fuel injection. The transmission and motor oil are both cooled through the radiator. As the tempature here in phoenix has been over 100 degrees i have been running the a/c more and have noticed some hesitation from first gear to second. It revs up a little more with the a/c versus no a/c before shifting. With no a/c it gets up and goes pretty good. I have noticed the temp guage is only hitting 165 -180. The book calls for 195. Any possiability they are connected?

I'd be surprised if they are related. Check the condition of the trans fluid and see if it is turning dark colored and see if it smells burnt. If it is, then you have serious problems coming. If the fluid looks decent, try doing a trans flush to get new, clean fluid in there and see if it helps.

As for the engine temp, I would replace the thermostat. That has happened twice to my own Blazer.
