Have an 01 ram with a 5.9l and a 45re trans. I put a remaned jasper tranny in it 60k ago. The trans had been working perfectly then one night i was cruising on the freeway at 65 mph, it was raining hard and i hit some deep standing water in the road at that point the trans stopped working. No noise, no slipping or shifting issues it just will not go into gear anymore. Before when putting it in gear you could hear some solenoid noise but nothing out of normal but now i can hear it at all, all connectors are connected. I am thinking tcm issues but dont want to shell out $500 on an educated guess.

Start off with getting the codes pulled....If there are any tranny codes it will take a high end scanner to get the exact code numbers but the good thing is, if there are any tranny codes, it will store a P0700 in the PCM and you can get that with a cheap scanner. On your's if you cycle the key from the off to on position 3 times, you should be able to see any store PCM codes in the odometer....You have to time it right, not to slow or not to fast and don't crank it.... I'm assuming you've got under it and looked at the linkage & everything else....

Yes first thing i checked was linkage, also scanned codes and found no codes to be present.

You aren't going to find any code with a generic code reader. You need professional equipment that can read the TCM. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

You sure that you don't have a 46RE? Van or truck? Series? 4WD? Either way the transmission has to come apart if you have no reverse. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

What is the warranty on your tranny?.....I've had pretty good luck with Jasper, if you are still under the period give them a call before any tear down work.....

The tranny only had a 40 k warrenty. I pulled codes a genisis scan tool so it should pick up anything tcm related. Not only do i not have reverse but i have nothing at all, the way it happened leads me to belive it is electrical some how, thanks for all the input, i'm really stumped on this one.

I pulled codes a genisis scan tool so it should pick up anything tcm related. Not unless it has the software to go with it. It better for the $2,500 it cost

That's peanuts in today's world and if additional transmission modules were not purchased for it, then it won't work. A PCM card will not work on a transmission.

Electrical really isn't going to give you absolutely nothing.....You would have shifting problems, also there would be codes.... The exact codes would be in the TCM and there would be a P0700 generic trans fault in the PCM indicating set tranny codes....

There is nothing electrical controlling reverse. No reverse and the fluid level is good then the transmission has an internal problem. That is as long as your transfer case is in one piece, the driveshaft isn't laying on the ground, or differential didn't break. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

One last maybe shot. If trans filter fell off this can happen just that fast as it wouldn't reach the fluid in the pan and would do nothing with no pressure, T

No, it would still suck the fluid around the filter.

I simply don't know the style of how filter is in there or how held. The issue is rare and usually soon after one has been changed that didn't work out. Fluid certainly can stay below where it will pick up on some even, - T
