That would probably be a question to pose to a certified welder after he inspects it. He's the only one that can tell you if his repair will be strong enough. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Radius arm bracket is around $40? As HT stated you should have a professional welder check that out. You don't want to be just welding on that if it is high carbon steel or else it will shatter like glass. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

There are a ton of these in the boneyards. Might even find a new one for cheap. Get new bushings for the install and the whole thing will probably come out cheaper than your old one welded. You might notice the other uys stressing the safety issue and I will join them on that. The radius arm is a key part of your suspension system and must be perfect to ensure you don't wreck your truck or get yourself and others killed. This is a much cheaper fix than you think.

I believe this thing is riveted to the frame so welding may still be the easiest option if it can be done correctly.

It is riveted on, so if a welder was available it would indeed be easier to repair it in frame than replace.

Most replacement units come with grade 8 bolts to remount after drilling the rivets out and removing the bad one. IF you go with a salvage yard unit be sure and buy grade 8 bolts to go with it. LIFE'S SHORT GO FISH
