Rusted and broken brake line: They can be a pest to remove and YOU have to make to new one. Special wrenches called "flare nut" wrenches are a whey to get the old one out. If that fails use a strong cutter and then just use a 6 point socket to remove old rusty ends. You can buy line with new fittings and single or double flared ends ready to bend and put it place. Sometimes hard to get the right length. If needed to shorten just make a few "S" turns in the line. Keep the line where the orig was!! They are there so that debris won't smash them or jacking up a car. I make my own lines from a way too long pre made line and have the tools to make the flares as needed but it only doing this once you may not want to spend the $ for the tools for that. No problem. They sell real short lines and you can add them up and get real close. Use unions to connects the lines as needed. Note: They sell the "Farrel" (sp?) fitting stuff but it is not even legal for brake lines to use those. Ok for household use not cars. Note: II - can be tricky to get a new line into the parts you need to. Strongly suggest you line it up and can do a whole turn or more on a flare nut before you put a wrench on it. They are easy to cross thread and avoid that as you could end up needing all new stuff. Also - don't let long lines be floppy as vibrations will make the new one leak in short order. Do it right - it can be frustrating - save the foul language till you are done and it's beverage time :-) T
