Cherokee Oil Pressure Gauge Sign In

Hi, all. 1996 Jeep Cherokee 4.0 67k miles. I want to put in an aftermarket oil pressure gauge, the one I bought comes with a whole roll of tubing. I was told that my car has an electronic gauge and the one I bought is a mechanical gauge. Can I use it anyway? How? thanks

You can use it. You just tap into to where the oil pressure sending unit for the OE one is.... If the kit doesn't have all the adaptors, I would suggest getting a T adaptor so you can still use the factory sending unit............

Oh my! A few cars looooong ago ran those OE to dash. There's real oil with its pressure in those and when they broke........... let's just say it was like the The Three Stooges having a pie fight! What a mess. Secure that line well, protect it from rubbing on things.

Like Sidom's idea of keeping both. Likely plumbing hardware would do,
