I am think of buying a crankshaft for my 6.2 diesel.Mine the rod was tossed and I don't want to have it turned.I found one that is perfect with no wear. The only problem is the damper at one time came off and damaged the damper end.Is there and way to fix the grooves and wear ? It only remover 2 thousands of an inch in spots.

I suggest seeing if your original can be machined and forget another with problems already that should still be machined or checked for correct bearings. Fussy stuff. Wrong is a disaster, T

There might be a way to fix it, but it would likely cost more than repairing the one you already have. You would also need to verify the rod and crank journal diameter with a micrometer to ensure that it hasn't been ground to a different size than the one you have.
