How do you get window handles off in the cold?

How do you get window handles off in the cold? Sign In

I'm embarrassed to ask this....i can't get the thing off, it's below zero in my area.

I have to get at the door panel, some idiot nicked my mirror off and i need to undo the entire door panel to get at it ughhhh...

Hang on....... I've got to dig out the crystal ball to figure out what kind of car your driving.........

Laugh - there's only 7 million different cars out there. If there's no screw or removable applique to expose one it's probably (HT - crystal ball working) a GM style with a clip unseen.

They look like this.............



You really need a special tool to push that out which of course will go flying out of sight so watch out for that.

Can buy cheap just the one tool for the specific car or just stop buy an auto glass place and have them just take it off for you in ten seconds flat.

Tool that does ones for GMs and some others looks like this..........

Pic wouldn't show - just ask...........



If you are just replacing a handle 'cause it's broken and many available at any parts outlets just get the glass place to remove old one and throw them a few bucks unless you want the tool or a kit of tools for that stuff,

You can do it without the tool.
Let me show you the towel trick.

ugh.. i thought they were all the same!

They can't even standardize a simple window handle?
