Need Help with running new brake line Sign In

2003 Hyundai Accent GL 1.6 DOHC 4 cylinder around 144,000 km

Please help. We are replacing a brake line (drivers side rear) we have the brake line cut to size, with the bubble flairs made on both ends to fit as we were told would be proper. The original brake line ran down from the master cylinder and over the gas tank. We however do not have a ramp to get the car up far enough to replace the line in the exact same pattern. We are also in a financial position right now where we cannot take it to a garage to have a mechanic replace it. What we need to know is if it is absolutely necessary to run the replacement brake line in the same exact fashion as the previous brake line was installed. We could always use rubber tubing over any parts where it would bump against anything, and use some existing mounts on the car from the previous brake line. I have read from a previous post that you must use s bends, but is it okay to run the new line in a different way than over the gas tank?

You want to stay very close to the same routing. The factory routed them in a way to keep them safe from any moving parts or heat. You can buy double flare unions to join multiple pieces to make it easier but keep them routed the same way.
