My girlfriend has an RX 300 with stock 225x70x16, an extremely unique size, probably special for this vehicle. I notice that there are plenty of 225x60x16, some 65's as well. Will the wider tire work? Specifically the 60 or 65. Anything on the downside? Clearance, alignment, etc. Thanks

No, that would be a much shorter tire and would create issues. An acceptable substitution size would be either 235/65/16 or 245/60/16 and that would only be if they didn't create any clearance issues and it was done uniformly on all 4 wheels. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
