What do you think about using fuel injector cleaners & oil additive products ? I drive a 92 eldo with over 250,000 miles my wife a 02 chrys t/c mini van with 120,000. it has been suggested I put in STP oil treatment with oil changes to recondition seals on my eldo. I have used fuel injector cleaners with it seems good results. How often would you use these products ?

eldo: Should have said the first time. These things are better at preventing problems than a cure once one crops up. I'm not into a ton of snake oils but at least in some places the fuel we buy is so full of crap/additives to lower emissions I will use some as said. Shouldn't need to go nuts.

To add: for stored/seasonal equipment I like to run them dry of any fuel and will store fuel using brand named Stabil. So far so good and still drive cars from the 80s! Gasoline is stable if pure - it isn't!

I just put in a bottle of Chevrons techron. The old 92 Eldo is running strong. the 4.9L has and is serving me well no leaks to speak of. The STP oil treatment was recommended to keep seals lubed. I appreciate having y'all out there I,m a insurance agent who likes to change my own oil, brakes and such. Something I picked up in the service maintaining my jeep ambulance in the motor pool.

Eldo's engines can be smooth as glass. Care rules but don't over do it with snake oils.

No joke youngest, car is 21 and oldlest is 62! Carry on!

fuel injector cleaner is ok just as sugested dont over do it stp is ok
to use theres one in paticular called bardahl b1 that costs just as
much as a bottle of stp and works alot better at protecting your
engine from wear and it mixes with synthetic oil you might wanna look
into that 1
