My '40 Ford Coupe had 4.11 in it, so I know what you are dealing with. I found a Chev. Nova rear end that was the correct width and put that in it. 3.73, if I remember correctly. Otherwise, if you want to keep it 'stock', you may want to 'bite the bullet, and do the kit. Is yours a closed driveline?
