1969 Lincoln Continental

I miss having my old '69. Man were those cars built and heavy. That was the last year for the unitized body and the suicide doors for the full size Lincoln. I restored it from a good running mess and know quite a bit about the 60's Lincolns and some of their common ailments so hit away if you have one or want one.
Finally did sell it as I really wanted the garage space for a vehicle I used. This car only went to car meets now and then. Fond memories of a fine car, - T

I have 69 Lincoln Continental as I've started having some problems. I can start the car and let it idle or drive for maybe 20 minutes or so and it will sputter and then stall out. Most every time, if I try to start it right away it will not start. If I let it sit for about 20 minutes it will normally start up again.
I have replaced the fuel filter - though the old one seemed perfectly fine, and this did not solve the problem. I have not tackled the fuel pump but thinking that could be the problem. My repair guy mentioned the points may need adjusting.
Any ideas?

This is so old we/I need to know the "state of the state" of this car. Is this an orig car/resto or what is known about it repair or resto wise aleady??

Mike - hit back - I still have parts for this exact car (few) if needed and and free - no joke just cover the costs of getting whatever to you - there are only small parts so diddle $$ - click on my name for private messages as needed.
This is an easy car in many ways - a pill because the hood opens backwards for some things - otherwise a good layout for things,

Mike; With the engine cold, check the choke adjustment. When you start the engine, make sure the choke pull-off is working. As the engine warms, observe the choke to make sure it's opening and fully opens when warm.
Of course, points, timing, and carb adjustments are very important and we can help you with that, if needed.
