body mounts Sign In

I am planning on putting new body mounts on my 1957 Chev belair. I do not want to pull the front clip. has any body out there done this? any idea what problems I might have? Can it be done?

Yeah I know a problem you might have, getting the body bolts out. I would spray them once in a while for several weeks before trying to turn them. I would think you can probably change them without having to take off the front clip. Maybe you'd have to loosen where it mounts to the firewall though.

this is easyer done with front clip off as it makes body lighter and easyer to get out bolts witcth will prob need to be cut with torch or saws all clip can be removed complette with 3 or 4 good guys 2 in front 1 on each fender or support nose after front bummper off get car up high enough about 2 ft or more and block on floor jacks spead out lood jack body just hih enough to grt bushing out or u need to undue steering and you will lose door alainment etc
