Hello there, I am new to this forum so I am sorry in advance If I have posted to the wrong part of this forum to ask this question. I am not sure where to post this. I have a family member who told me its actually more expensive now a days to by a Junker or a old/very old car because the old car parts are expensive and hard to find when the car needs to replace parts. Also Maintenace too. The family member told me I would need a economy efficient car. Recently I heard its very expensive to buy a hybrid even if its a old used hybrid so that's probably a car I could not afford. So having said all that what would be the answer to my question? I don't want a car that is constantly breaking down all the time. When I say affordable, I mean everything like car maintenance, yearly inspections, insurance, gass and the rest.

It's the old saying, you get what you pay for. If you go for an older vehicle, the maintenance/repairs can be brutal. If you buy a newer compact car it will be far more expensive but with less maintenance. Be very carful buying an older hybrid vehicle because a replacement battery can cost you thousands. They are nice when they are newer. Japanese or Korean cars are good, European cars can be very expensive to repair. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
