Which oil for 1997 Dodge Neon? OK to Mix Oils?

I have a 1997 Dodge Neon with a 2.0 and I'm just curious what type of oil I need to use. Some people have said 5W-20 or 5W-30 for the winter months and so on, but general advice has been to go with 10W-30, which I'm inclined to do. The only thing is that I don't know what kind of oil is in it now, as a lot of Neon owners apparently go for the 5w oil. I just got this car and so I'm gonna put some oil in it for the first time. So would it be okay, for example, if I put 10w-30 in and it turns out it has 5w-20 in it? Would it be okay to mix oils that way? Or 10w-30 plus 5w-30? Will the car blow up?

Here are the specs for that from the factory API Classification SH or SH/CD or Above Above 0°F (-18°C) 10W-30 Below 32°F (0°C) 5W-30 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
