1994 chevy K1500 running rough

Truck running rough, took it to chevy garage, I spent $1500.00 they told me everything but how to fix it. They were no help, but I found it, Now get this --some how the temp sensor was the problem for Running rough. I did a complete tune up, even wires.before I found this.Also it effected the way the Transmission shifted.I have replaced about (5) sensors over the years and know what to do when it acts up. Something has to be the cause for this continued replacement. Why???

Please read the rest, still having to change temp sensors, about once a year. Why????

I doubt they really needed changing. It's probably a problem with the connector all along.

Is this the CTS? Jeez, they come with a new pigtail complete for $23 bucks +/- as they are a problem spot! You don't even need to drain all the coolant to do those..........

Thanks for your advise, I will check the pig tail again/ change it. I still am Question of the effect and or interferance with the ignition system and the operational effect of the transmission shifting . based on review of elect drawings. OK. I know a Short is a Short.

Not sure what you're trying to ask here. The temp sensor can effect many things as the computer considers it before many decisions, especially fuel mixture.

Cornpicker : That is just the CTS sensor. Tells engine controls how cold or hot the engine is to deliver correct amount of fuel and other adjustments as each is programmed to do and if it thinks it's always too cold or hot or erratic would make wrong adjustment, engine run lousy and trans gets credible wrong info from an engine's other sensors.
All these things are a team effort. Same one all the time suggests plug or wiring issue as at least CTS sensors (to me) don't have a known life expectancy nor do they absolutely fail ever in the life of a vehicle??
