im posting this for a friend of mine who doesn't have a computer so bare with me. He has 1995 z28 camaro and he just bought a super 44 flowmaster muffler part # 9430462. we took it to 2 muffler shops today to get it put on and they both said he has the wrong muffler. now since we've been home i've found like 8 websites thats telling me this muffler is universal and it says it will fit a 1972-02 camaro. if the manufacter and sellers says it will fit why in the hell is the muffler shops telling us it wont. there excuse was the mufflers for a camaro has to sit sideways which we knew already, but if its universal that means it can fit side ways am i right?? so can anyone help me out?? heres a link to one of the websites that shows all the cars it will fit. http://auto-parts.myride.com/...d-4-x-95-x-13-caseea

One thing you will find out about these people is the the term "universal fit" is a long way from "direct fit" Anything can be made to fit anywhere, it's just how much modification will it take. If 2 muffler shops turned you away, they are the experts at this and i would listen to them. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

That's a tight fit on that model, right up in there with the fuel tank & not much room for anything else........ If it was my car I don't think I would be messing around with a "universal fit" and that's probably why those shops walked him.... too much liabibilty..........

I believe the big issue here is the length of the muffler and since it has 3 pipes to match up with no lee-way for the position of the muffler, it will require making extension pipes for everything to make it fit right. The only reason they are calling it a fit is because it has 2 inlets and 1 outlet but none of them are in the right place for a good fit.
