start with the basics.air and fuel filter ,replace if you dont know when done . plug gap and condition. timing . wires and cap /rotor > same as filters .If all done and still have prob take to a muffler shop and have them check cat and muffler for restriction. LIFE'S SHORT GO FISH

Usually on something like this, one suggestion I make is if there is any overdue maintenance that hasn't been done that is tune up & filter related, now would be a good time to do it. Even if it doesn't solve the problem it's something than needs to be done anyway and can then be ruled out as a possible cause..... If there is still a problem you may want to pull codes to see if anything is stored. Take some basic readings, fuel pressure and vacuum. On this particular problem I would pay close attention to what the reading is at high rpm to make sure there isn't a restricted exhaust problem.... If it goes to almost nothing at high rpm you may be looking at a plugged cat, if it's low and shaky at high rpm you are going to want to be sure the valves are adjusted properly..........

You can do a basic test with a vacuum gauge like I mentioned in the previous post............See what your reading is @ high rpm. If it goes to almost nothing you are more that likely looking at an restricted exhaust problem....

could it possibly be a sensor gone bad? or a blown headgasket?

If you live in a emmission testing state ,,,, you just had some great sex . You just screwed yourself. Just for the record no one from this site advised you to gut your cat. LIFE'S SHORT GO FISH

Kinda sad Desi, you help someone out & that's the thx you get, nice huh...... I see he's in Flordia just north of you, so I'm guessing he's already done the bypass to the PCM so it won't turn the check engine light on & set a P0420. The little punks lucky about the only system that works on is the older Hondas. Don't sweat it, it's still a crap shot if it'll pass emissions even if the lights not on so he'll probably have to buy a cat anyway..... Maybe it'll be your shop he comes into...........lmao
