2.5 Ton Hydraulic Jack
|
|

I have two 2.5 ton hydraulic jacks and neither will work. Forgive my ignorance but how do I put hydraulic oil into them? (72-year-old widow going it alone)

There should be a small screw if the side of the piston to fill it. It's a small hole so filling will be slow. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Links are not allowed here and that one was broken anyway. Regular hydraulic oil is what you are looking for. Jack oil is the same thing.

Soquilii : You said they don't work? Either bottle type or floor types if leaking out oil there's a problem you don't want with anything I've had and own. If you just can't make TWO work perhaps are a type to use handle to tighten a screw will work and loosen to lower? Both with same issue suggests they are not leaking it the way you need to use them? I carry about that capacity in trunks so no vehicle's jacks needed to fuss with both you tighten a screw and leave it loose when done fit in a clean case not to mess the vehicle up or move around. Just I don't know exactly what you have and can't. Look at handle for a slot if smaller, cheaper types also more compact, Tom
