If you are buying the correct transmission fluid for that car for $4 a quart, that is a hell of a bargain but more likely the wrong fluid. That requires ATF+4. How did you get water in the trans in the first place? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

If coolant got into the transmission's fluid and contaminated the transmission, the transmission has to come out. It's done. The coolant tears up the clutches. Time for a rebuild. Flushing isn't going to fix that problem. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

thank you gentlmen for your responses, we are moving towrads a low mileagge transmission for the neon, and as far as the water entering the tranny, i discovered as rare as it is that the trans cooler inside the radiator cracked, and as a resultsucked in the antifreeze mixture into the trans.........and u are absolutly correct as the anti freeze compromised integrity of the rtransmission....thank uyou again guys!

That's not so rare. I have seen many, many or them.
