For some unknown reason, my brother would like to know what the torque is going to the input shaft of the trans and the torque at the drive wheels. He's up to something! No rush, don't go out of your way but if you have access to the specks, would appreciate. Happy new Year!! Amatuer night

I'm not real sure what you are asking for CH.... The input & output torques are going to vary depending on engine speed, load, road conditions and a few other variables..... If you are just looking for max hp & torque rating of the motor, I could try to track that down for you. Think you're gonna have to beat it out of him on what he's up to....... Have to admit you've got me curious a h*ll now.........

I think he wants to bottle feed it! NO<NO<NO!! Lets not go there! Just max torque of this engine and torque at wheels is good. He's building something hydraulic with it. Needin the numbers to get it right. Not automotive

Couldn't find any torque output specs but did come across this blurb. The LD9 Twin Cam was a 2.4 L (146 cu in) Quad 4 variant with balance shafts, and a redesigned cylinder head which debuted in 1996. Bore was decreased from 92 mm (3.6 in) to 90 mm (3.5 in) and stroke increased from 85 mm (3.3 in) to 94 mm (3.70 in) for better torque, power came in at 150 hp (112 kW). This engine received a minor update halfway through the 1999 model year that eliminated the EGR, increased the compression ratio from 9.5:1 to 9.7:1, and switched from low impedance fuel injectors to high impedance. Don't know if it helps or not but keep us posted on the "project".......I just gotta know.........

CH; Motors manuals list brake HP and torque, but mine only goes up to 1954. Sorry. If it's older than that, you'll have to ask W2O. Loren SW Washington

54? 1954? They never heard of a "Malibu" in 54! I have a 1956 Motors. No Malibu in there either! Just lookin for the BHP or (by current standards) the hp of this quad 4. Try this one. How much torque will the trans in this car handle? We have had a 62 Chevy 327-3 spd, Impala, spun the input shaft in half. Did not hurt any gears. New input shaft and back on the road. Not looking for anything close to that kind of torque but would like to know what this trans is capable of. It's 6:30 here & still sober (darn) Workin on it though! Have a Happy everyone!

1954? Duh. What, you think I'm so old that I remember 1854? All you need to do is, divide the flexdrive by the flux capacitor and you will get the resistance value of the differential pushrod. With that information, you can then tell what the ratio of the deflection is causing the reflection in the mirror. Loren SW Washington

I think you better check your turn signal fluid- it sounds a little low!
