Ball Joint Separator Tool (fitment)

This is just a general question.
I have a Suzuki Alto GF and will be separating the Ball joint from the hub soon. I have a ball joint separator tool ready to go.
My question is, when fitting that ball joint separator tool, I have to fit the forked steel part into the part above the ball joint rubber. It seems to be a tight fit. Will I destroy the ball joint rubber when fitting this tool? That's my only concern.

Yes, you will likely destroy the rubber boot. Hard to avoid using a pickle fork.
They do make other tools to separate that like this one

Yes, you should be able to slide the tool between the boot and the steel part of the knuckle.

Not specifically but you should be able to move it with a small prybar or large screwdriver.
There is another method we use if you have some space to swing a hammer.
Use a very heavy hammer and strike the metal part of the knuckle as hard as you can. The jarring motion will usually break it free. You may have to hit it a few times.
Don't try this if there is any risk of hitting things you don't want to hit.
