Jeep Sign In

I'm loking for fuel pump pressure on a 91 Jeep Cherokee w/6cyl (240?) This thing started running like doggie doo all of a sudden. Sent the owner after plugs, wires, fuel filter. No different, runs crappy. Idle varies like it's an I A C, cleaned throttle body with throttle body cleaner. No change. Takes a long time cranking befor it starts. I put a gauge on the fuel rail an it looks like it's an overwhelming 14 to 16 lbs pressure. Stays about there when it runs. I'm thinkin a fuel pump tomorrow. Agree?

Re: Jeep Sign In

Sounds like you have a fuel pressure problem.

Here's the spec

Fuel Pressure

Key On, engine running ------------------------------------------------------------------ 214 kPa (31 psi)
Regualtor vacuum hose disconnected ------------------------------------------------ 269-283 kPa (39-41 psi)
