Just a quick question. I am debating between getting a new Mitsubishi Lancer for $18,500 (auto, power windows, etc), new Nissan Sentra (auto, power windows) for $17,100 and Suzuki Sx4 demo with 10,000 k with (auto, power, nav system with backup camera, climate control, heated seats, etc) for 19,000. Which is the best deal? Which one gives the best value for the dollar. All cars are 2011 and on the road price.

Opinions will vary for sure but of those I'd lean towards the Sentra. Skip the "demo" unless a big bargain and with 10K on it already is a big minus to me for a new car. No matter what you have the like the car and be comfortable with it, T

Thanks for the reply. I am just torn because of the options on the demo sx4 over the sentra. It has heated seated, climate control, keyless ignition, 9 speakers with subwoofer, navigation system/dvd/back up camera, leather wraped steering, steering controls, cruise control, additional snow tires and one or two more. I am not sure if that constitutes a bargain deal. Any thoughts? If one had to value the additional features over the sentra any guesses?

Still just my opinion alone really. I suggest if you want this car for a long time the FEWER toys the better. You can get an aftermarket back up camera if needed on that vehicle and some do. Extra tires help but you can do that if needed on anything if really needed for Winter use where you are. You still need to be happy with the vehicle. I've owned a zillion (all used) and not a dealer but some even all fixed up I plain didn't like if they were new I have to guess as these are new and I don't see or deal with much till off warranty - that and retired from this mad game. Avoid aftermarket stuff as it frequently is the first stuff to fail. Lots depends on how much you expect to drive and how long you expect to own the new car. Still think Nissan will be more reasonable for routine things along the way but it's your money so get what pleases you the most. Good luck, T PS: One more consideration as the 2012s will be out soon. Look at driver's door jam so see date of manufacture. A 2011 could have been sitting around for close to a year and in general cars don't like that...........

My standard answer to your dilemma, is "Which one do you like better?" if you prefer the Sentra, get it, if you prefer the SX4, purchase it. You are the one that needs to be happy. Good luck. Being way2old is why I need help from younger minds
