No air coming out vents

My son has a 1999 Chrysler Sebring lxi and no air is coming out of the forward facing vents. He puts the switch on forward vents and nothing comes out but comes out the top and floor. But when he puts switch on anything else it’s just floor and out the top. So it’s like the switch is stuck on defrost. So could it a bad switch or could I try anything else.

The door controls for the mode doors will be on the left side of the HVAC housing. They could be vacuum or electric, must most likely and electric actuator.

ok so what does that mean in english? i dont know much about cars. so where do i look and what should i do?

Do you know the difference between a vacuum operated device versus an electrically operated device? If not you find a mechanic who is able to see and test it then replace or fix based on what is found.
BTW - HVAC means Heating, Ventilating, and Air-Conditioning. There are mechanics that would specialize in just that if needed,

I could probably figure it out but got a place in the car I could look for or got pics I could look at.

Left side as Hammer Time said. I'd be looking up over the "gas pedal" and may be a lot of stuff all around there obstructing the view. If so try a light and auto dental type mirror just know if it's electrical or vacuum. If you can't tell that much this isn't for you find the right shop near you and show them what is does wrong not what your guess is what the problem is to fix it,

Well right above the pedal is a black box with a hole and I assume that is floor heat. So what should I look at now? Trying to see if I can work on this and not have to go to shop if I don’t

You can't even identify the linkage or actuators. You are never going to be able to diagnose this correctly. You need to bring it to a competent shop.
