A good buy or not? Sign In I am interested in purchasing a 2010 Nissan Altima with a 2.5 L engine and 51871K miles. The car dealer specializes in inventory that are insurance vehicles with previous accident history. This is what they've sent me about the vehicle's accident history: "Just to let you know and just like it states in our disclaimer that we have a 1 year warranty for our vehicles and for the repairs that we have done. Our vehicles are a lot lower in price because most of our cars were bought from insurance companies with accident damages that are very fixable. This particular vehicle has had some damage on the front. We had to replace the front bumper, both headlights, rh fender, and grille. Airbags were not deployed and there was no frame damage on this vehicle. The engine and transmission and other electrical components were not hurt and the damage on this vehicle was cosmetic only and very fixable. Everything has been fixed and computer aligned. This vehicle drives very nice and there is no telling that it has ever been in the body shop. Would this be a safe purchase, or are the previous damages an indication of future issues? Have your mechanic check it over really good before you make a decision on purchasing it. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved. Sign In You probably want to also see the title to make sure it isn't tagged with anything like frame damage or rebuilt title. Not the total issue. HT hit it, is the car marked as a total? Think about that no matter how well fixed up would YOU pay more for that one or an identical one without that on its record? No brainer, it's worth less because of that hence a seeming bargain or is it really?
