2000 Ford F150 177K miles 6 cyl. My son in law borrowed it and went 95 mph to "Blow it out" on the interstate. That isn't necessary is it?

Thanks for your answer.

Any chance he will buy you another truck?
Suggest you don't let him drive that truck anymore, its a TRUCK not a corvette.
ANYWAY you do know that's illegal and yes totally unnecessary, dangerous and not a beneficial way to operate vehicle.
If you need to "blown it out' why not use a lower gear 2nd and the engine RPM's at reasonable speed will be equally high..
BUT There should be NO reason to blow it out...let us know if there is an issue...

Common sense would tell you that isn't necessary and also illegal.
